Shipping and Returns

Backyard Bees ships with USPS, typically processing orders within 2 business days. Returns of personal care products are not possible.


Backyard Bees uses United States Postal Service (USPS) to ship all of our orders. We use flat rate shipping which allows us to control shipping costs and helps you receive your package as quickly as possible. You will receive tracking information when your order is shipped.

Order Processing Times

Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, please allow up to 3 business days to process your order. If your order is placed after business hours or on a holiday, the processing time starts the next business day.

We typically ship within two business days. Holiday shipping times are the same. The post office closes early on Saturday. Orders received on the weekend will be shipped on Monday morning. If you need expedited shipping, please let us know.

Earth Friendly Shipping Options

We are an earth friendly company and strive for plastic-free shipping options. We do repurpose packaging when available and appropriate for your order.

We use the resources given to us as well; we are currently going through a box of shipping tape that was gifted to us from a small business that needed to close their shop.

If you would like green shipping, you can always drop us a note with your order.

Missing Packages

We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Please confirm your delivery address prior to ordering AND ensure that the delivery can be made to secure location.  If the USPS or other tracking service indicates the package was delivered, we will not ship a replacement order.


Backyard Bees is a small business maker of natural, earth-friendly personal care products. As a rule, we are unable to accept returns on personal care or body products.

Due to the nature of the handcrafted products, every item is unique and you may receive a variation of a product that is slightly different than the photo.

While we cannot accept returns on body products, we do want you to be happy. Please contact the Queen Bee if you have any problems with your order.

Shipping Temperature and Condition

Backyard Bees is a plant based business. Shipping temperatures can affect the appearance of your product. This is natural. Backyard Bees cannot be held responsible for changes in products affected by the shipping temperatures.

Oils and plant butters (ie, coconut oil, shea butter, mango butter, etc) can melt in temperatures over 80 degrees Fahrenheit.  When ordering during summer months, you may experience melting of your product.

To reincorporate, refrigerate or freeze for a short period of time and re-blend back to desired consistency. The original consistency may have changed but the effectiveness of your product will remain the same.

Facial scrubs, body scrubs, and body polish often separate when sitting for extended periods. Always use a clean spoon and stir before using to blend the ingredients together.

Coconut oil may solidify when shipped in cold conditions. You may see a white film on the top of your scrub, or see white solid marbling in your product. This is natural. To reincorporate, simply set your scrub in a bowl of hot water and allow the oil to melt. Stir the scrub and allow it to sit and cool before using.
